Understanding Your Hand-Dyed Yarns and How to Use Them 
(or… What You Always Wanted to Know about Hand-Dyed Yarns But Were Afraid to Ask) with Stephanie Alford

Hand-dyed yarn is beautiful… eye-catching… and so seductive. But just because you’ve fallen head over heels for a skein of hand-dyed yarn doesn’t mean you always know what to do with it when you get it home. In this class, Stephanie Alford, dyer and Head SpaceCadet at SpaceCadet yarn, will walk you through the steps in “reading” your skein, to allow you to better anticipate how your hand-dyed yarn will behave once it’s on the needles. Starting with color terminology and covering everything from understanding color repeats to choosing the right stitch pattern for your colorway, you’ll walk out of class empowered to tackle your stash of hand-dyed yarn with confidence!
