A Sneak Peak of What’s In Store for 2021

This is the time of year we all are thinking of others and either making or shopping for gifts. As a yarn shop owner, I’m busy planning for the spring/ summer season of 2021. I’ve already had several Zoom meetings checking out the new offerings from vendors and I’m not done yet. I typically get out my proverbial crystal ball and take a wild guess as to what you would like in the coming year. Then in late spring I do it all over again for the last 6 months of the year. This spring I’ll be bringing in more cottons and another linen or linen blend as many have requested.

In the meantime, you’ll find some of your past favorites being phased out. Perhaps they are discontinued, or no one seems to be interested in them. I’ve got to make those tough decisions and quite frankly I hate this part. I love every yarn I’ve brought into the studio and it’s like getting rid of an old friend! Some of you are hitting SABLE (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy) about now. You have breached your yarn containment system. You know where I’m coming from, I’m limited to how many shelves or grids that can hold our friends. I’ve been seeing sparkling new buddies to make the next seasons new projects that will shortly be arriving daily from designers. I love the new trends in texture and color that they have been featuring for the coming year.

Keep an eye out for the rookies as I transition into the new season. Meanwhile, enjoy the recent acquisitions like Berroco Coco, a hand painted super bulky superwash merino, perfect for that quick gift for your hair stylist. Sheila, my hair miracle worker, requested mittens and I plan on making a pair in this versatile yarn.
